The Indonesian Institute works in four major areas: Publication,
Social Development Initiatives, Policy Research and
Consultancy/Trainings
Publishing an online magazine “The Prospect” which analyzes
issues such as economy, education, employment, democracy,
culture, religion, and international relations.
Producing sound analysis and recommendation for policy
consideration in the following areas:
Social Development Initiatives
Obtaining, generating and channeling resources (time, skills, and
money) to help uneducated and poor Indonesians. The
Indonesian Institute will organize “a summer voluntary
program” where some Indonesians who are studying abroad and
spending their summer vacation at home can volunteer their
time and other resources to help their peers at home. This
will be a great resource for disseminating and inculcating
democratic, united and hard working values especially to the
country’s young generations.
The Institute will also build a strategic cooperation with public
libraries in providing books and information on social,
education, economics and political issues and in encouraging
Indonesians to visit libraries. It is a sad reality that
Indonesia does not have reasonable public libraries in major
cities such as those seen in the developed countries. Since
library is central to the educational process of a society
and a nation, The Institute considers this a serious issue.
Consultancy/trainings
The Institute offers consultancy on Indonesian economy,
business and politics. We also assist
individuals/institutions in obtaining data and information
on
Indonesia. We have a thorough understanding of Indonesian
economy, culture, business conventions, law, politics, and
workforce and community relations. For further information,
