Elwin
Tobing
is an associate professor of Economics at Azusa Pacific
University, California. His research interests are in the
areas of development economics, demographic economics,
macroeconomics and public finance. He got his Ph.D. in Economics
from the University of Iowa,
U.S., and his M.Sc. in Economic Policy and Planning
from Northeastern University in Boston. He worked for
years as a research analyst at American International
Group, Boston Financial Data Services and Arthur D.
Little in Boston, Massachusetts. Currently he writing a book
Indonesia's Agenda:
Building a Value-based Nation. During the
last few years, he has produced numerous
writings in major Indonesian national newspapers such as Kompas, the Jakarta Post and Suara Pembaruan.
Through The Indonesian Institute, he wants to share
his ideas and opinion about the future of Indonesia.
His basic message is unity, democracy and prosperity!
