degree. It enables people to not only transmit information
at instant but also store and access massive information and
data. Today, with a relatively low subscription fee, almost
all academic journals published in the world can be accessed
via the Internet, not to mention enormous sites which
provide free access of information, knowledge and data.

Promoting Religious Tolerance |

05/07/06. The publication of
a number of caricature cartoons of prophet Muhammad in a
Danish newspaper has set on a raging controversy and
violent protests from Muslims around the world including
Indonesia. The cartoon crisis has left embassies ablaze and
sparked riots from Beirut to Bangkok and Jakarta.
Danish government, for instance, already warned its people
to leave Indonesia. Should all of these have to happen?
Do people have the rights to insult religions? Or, do people
have the rights to criticize religions? Or should violence
be condoned in the name of religions?
